Day 124: warm welcome

There's nothing like a homecooked meal, eaten in a cozy kitchen, with wonderful friends and laughing kids. Our long day on the road, moving from far-eastern North Carolina to Greensboro, ended with a great reunion with Susan's college friend Ellen and her family. As with so many of the friends with whom we've connected on this trip, we're amazed to consider how long we've all known each other...Ellen and I now entering our 23rd year. Stan and I pray that Kelsey and Kendall enjoy similar rich friendships throughout their lives, some of them already established. We're sure their evening with Ellen and Mark's kids, Sophie and Ryan, will be a lasting memory.
